Ingredients

2 cups of Raw Rice. You need to soak the rice for about 2 hours
1 cup of shredded coconut
¼ cup of cooked rice.
¾ cup of sugar. it depends upon you. you can add more or reduce sugar if you want
1 ¼ tsp yeast
seeds of 6 cardamom
Salt to taste

Preparation

In a blender add raw rice Next add coconut into the blender Add cooked rice Next add 1 ¼ tsp yeast Add little sugar Then add water. Don’t add too much of water. Then Blend it well Next pour the batter into a vessel and add sugar Add Salt to taste and mix it well Then add cardamom and combine well Then need to keep it for fermentation. In the cold countries during winter season just microwave the batter for 10 sec or preheat the oven and switch of it once it is preheated and keep the lights on also makes the fermentation easy Now the batter is risen ..Now we can cook vatteppam. You can use any round plate. Here am taking 9 inch cake pan. Next grease the pan with coconut oil Pour the batter into pan For cooking vatteppam using pan and add little water into that and kept a stand. On that stand am keeping the cake pan Once it is cooked. remove it from the pan With the help of knife remove the vatteppam from the cake pan and decorate it with nuts and raisins
